I invested time in XI and really hated it. X-2 is one of the worst FFs ever. And my issue with Versus becoming XV is the time we waited for an exclusive title, only for it to completely become something else. Notice I said I’m fine with XV being developed as it is now. The transition was frustrating.

Also, while Versus was “within the world of XIII” it wasn’t based on the same boring characters I had to deal with. There’s hope that they’d have a better cast.

I agree with your comment, but I want to offer a defense for his bit about Kingdom Hearts.

I think that the HD Remixes are doing a wonderful job at combining the games into two cohesive packages for newcomers and fans alike; however, in the past, Square Enix made some frustrating decisions for its portable entries that came out after Kingdom Hearts 2. These portable entries are apparently so important for the story in Kingdom Hearts 3, yet they decided to split them up between Nintendo and Sony consoles, making things a bit more frustrating for fans who didn’t want to buy both a DS and a PSP just to keep up (Sure, they could have borrowed from friends and whatnot).

I think that’s what he was referring to when he wrote “Kingdom Hearts console leapfrog.”

While I agree with your overall sentiment, I don’t really agree with any of that right there ^^^ FFXI is a great and long-running MMO that was crazy successful. X-2 is a direct sequel to X, why wouldn’t it be packaged together? Kingdom Hearts on more systems isn’t really a bad thing in and of itself, seeing as how we are getting HD remasters on PlayStation and KHIII is on it’s way still. Versus becoming FFXV…why is that bad? Versus was only a concept and shadow of a game all these years, so it’s changing doesn’t actually have an impact on what consumers get to see and play. Plus, isn’t it contradictory to both complain Versus XIII is no longer a thing, then also complain about being forced to play more XIII games in the very same sentence? Of which I think are actually quite good games and the world is pretty unique, diverse, and interesting if you give them a chance.

As I said, I agree with the general sentiment about the VII remake, but that particular paragraph above was reaching a bit in my opinion.

But since its only speculation, they can go to hell, I bought it way too many times already.

After SQE released that tech demo, people have been clamoring for a full remake. This isn’t going to happen. I would say that people should just let it go but this move seemed very trollish on Square-Enix’s part. It shouldn’t have been announced at this event. A small press release would have sufficed.
