And I’ll say one more thing. Every time I’ve searched this title in the past month, a Different generic game site comes up.

It really makes me wonder who owns them, if they are really true functional game journalism sites, and how on Earth there can be so many in Googles immediate search results that are all constructed the exact same way.

Thepanzer knows exactly what he/she is talking about.

Rewind to the near release of previous titles and the interwebs are covered with the same marketing hooha.

Marketing and Big Studio are prehaps the problem with gaming today. There is a key difference in outcome between naturally conjuring up a great game, or a meticulously crafted effort to force something that meets the checklist of expectations for a great game.

Simply do things by the numbers and it won’t matter how big your budget is: 100 locations will all seem meaningless, challenge won’t have a point. And so on.

In any case don’t fall for the usual tricks, wait and see.

Don’t blindly preorder based on carefully crafted marketing hooplah.

We’ll see about the endings as well as the supposed complexity. If you went on gaming sites prior to the release of ME3 and DA2 you would hear variants of the same Bioware DA: Inquisition talking points that we found out were pure hokum. You’re choices matter! A plethora of different endings! Etc.

My personal plan is to wait at least 2-4 weeks and see how the user meta-critic reviews pan out.

If Bioware botches this one I’m walking away from them as a company.

Great article. I can’t wait until Christmas break so I can fully dive into this epic game.
