If I were to pick the games I personally wanted to win then this list would be completely different. This show is a big popularity contest. I based my picks off what is popular and what the show’s history would pick as winners.

I’m confused as well! I can’t speak for Tony, but my guess is that he picked due to how incredibly popular Hearthstone is. It’s an easily accessible game, and has really modernized card-based virtual gaming, not to mention it’s a free-to-play. I think Tony went for popular over his heart-felt choice. What says you, Tony?

As far as Telltale is concerned, I’d like to believe that 2014 is Telltale’s year. While no game is exempt from bugs, there’s no denying that they’ve introduced a unique style of gameplay that calls into question morals and personality. The idea to chop up stories into episodes and seasons makes Telltale’s games easily accessible for gamers of all types, and it also makes it incredibly affordable. Telltale is unique, and their system is introducing new ways to tell stories, and that’s why we think they’re worthy of the title.
