Competitive circuits don’t equate to mass market popularity. Often things that are no longer en vogue enter a competitive circuit in order to corral the small audience you still have left.

There are competitive circuits for bowling, but we don’t see bowling on broadcast TV any more, and you’d have to really hunt for it on cable / satellite.

Not diminishing the competitive circuit that fighting games enjoy, I am just suggesting that isn’t indicative of popularity at large.

LOL dude the fighting genre isn’t what it used to be. Remember there used to be like 12+ franchises that were successful, now the marketplace hardly supports 2 or 3.

You can find competitions for people tossing pumpkins that doesn’t mean it’s a popular activity with a vibrant marketplace of consumers supporting it.

LOL Uncharted took the Tomb Raider formula and improved on it in almost every way. To call this a rip off is uninformed and I suspect you haven’t played Uncharted.

I don’t claim to be an expert on the limitations cross-play offers or if there’s a technical barrier that limits Microsoft’s adaptation of the feature, but I do know I’ve enjoyed playing across consoles.

Microsoft is the technical barrier. PCs can play on the same servers as Macs, no reason that PS4 and XBONE couldn’t be playing with each other. I hear MS is the biggest reason this doesn’t happen due to XBL being a closed network.
