Pfft. The instant you said of Tifa “A girl that is not only hot, but also definitely kicks some ass” I wrote this shitty article off. That and the claim that you couldn’t choose between FF6’s characters because “they were all good”. If there’s one black mark against number 6 it’s the large cast of characters with next to no development. If I’m going to be completely objective then I’ll begrudgingly admit that Zidane is the best hero despite being a big 5, 7 and 12 fan. Balthier comes second (again begrudgingly) and Arie-s/th is third because she barely needed Cloud and Co’s help to save ‘the planet’ – She pretty much saved the day herself. Auron I feel ‘insists upon himself’ far too much and while I do like Squall for his ‘whatever’ quotes I’ll admit he’s down the ladder quite a fair bit. But Cecil? Come on people, you’re deluding yourselves with the pseudo-karmic crap… What a sissy…

This is a great list, and I’m glad Cloud wasn’t listed. As much as I love FFVII, I don’t think cloud is deserving of the best characters title, Zack was a much better choice. My personal favourite as of now is of course Lightning. All the characters listed are great, but I would have maybe bumped Auron up to the main list just because he’s that much of a badass.
