If you paid attention to star wars news like you did about this new stormtrooper news you'd know that dave filoni said in an interview about the upcoming rebels show (which takes place before episode 4) that most of the stormtroopers are recruited civilians from the galaxy. yes there are still some clones but they either are helping train new recruits or have a similar role to the clone '99 from the clone wars. you have to remember the clone wars was a war and most of the clones bred for war also perished in that war. Palpatine probably stopped mass producing the clones after the fall of darth tyrannous because dooku was the one that always contacted the kaminoians. Btw yes this is canon because the clone wars show was stated by disney to be completely canon.

In reply to <a href="https://thekoalition.com/2014/what-could-the-stormtroopers-leak-mean-for-star-wars-episode-vii#comment-154619">Nomad</a>.

That's what I'm thinking too. There are no doubt a lot of former Imperials who, ironically enough, become a sort of rebellion against the new Republic. I do however want the movies to at least address what happened to the millions of clones left over after the war. I can also believe that some are not clones but I want that to be explicitly stated.

Stromtroopers are not a exclusively clone army. They consisted of normal soldiers conscripted or willingly enlisted. After the death of the emperor somebody else would have to take command of the troops naturally. (like Grand Admiral Thrawn from the Thrawn trilogy books). Emperor may be defeated but the Imperials are not fully defeated. It only makes sense for them to popup in small pockets or regroup and launch a mass offensive after their defeat.
