I had that editorial in mind when I commented, I just haven't had the resources to drop on Bloodborne yet.

Dude, check out this editorial I wrote. I basically say that Bloodborne is the Castlevania game we deserve. If anyone needs proof that Castlevania can work in 3D they need only play Bloodborne. Cainhurst Castle alone is a huge love letter to old school Castlevania. http://thekoalition.com/2015/bloodborne-is-the-castlevania-game-we-deserve

Absolutely agree on the point of failure to respond to the proper criticism - though if some of the stories that came out after the LoS2 launch were true that the head of the studio was so fed up with Konami /Castlevania he pushed to launch just to be done with it..... depressing scene all around, I would have loved another in the vein of LoS1, massive sequential levels like SCV IV /Bloodlines with tighter focus on how the camera was used (I loved some of those panned back shots for platforming, gorgeous).
As much as I love metroidvania gameplay, I don't think any developer really made it work in 3D yet (though FROM comes achingly close, and I haven't touched Bloodborne yet).

That makes no sense. You'll take news from a Kickstarter page, but you won't credit a Kickstarter page from which the news is derived? Sourcing your news is not support, it's good journalism.

Look, I came here to read the news. Then I looked for a link and all I got was a link to TheKoalition.com. Do you think other people come here to read news and not have access to what it is they're being informed of?

I know it seems like I'm being a pain, but, honestly, it is damn helpful to at least provide some link to lead people to the source of the news. It's not supporting anything. It's called presenting all the information. It's only supporting it if you promote it and encourage people to back it. Sure, I ended up Googling it. But, damn, not including the link is essentially you reporting on the news without A) Helping your readers to become more informed of it and B) giving credit to the source of the news you are representing.

Both Lords of Shadows games had a lot of elements that would have made them great games but they never fully realized them. LoS2 was worse in many many ways but the fact that Mercury Steam didn't listen to legitimate criticisms of the game made the situation worse.

I would quibble that the Lords of Shadow series strayed far from what made the series great, Iga's games, while brilliant, had very little to do with the original design of Castlevania most of my peers feel in love with. SotN and Lament of Innocence were the best Iga helmed games (while I have a great love for Curse of Darkness, I can't really say is one of the better Castlevania games). Lords of Shadow 1 was a good Castlevania game, it just wasn't an Iga-style metroidvania -the subsequent (ultimately pointless) pandering to the incredibly vocal Iga weeaboovania fans (who would never support a non-Japanese Castlevania)in Mirror of Fate (splitting the console gap by going mobile) and LoS 2 (poor attempt at open traversal world design) hurt the series (imo, I enjoyed the shit outta LoS 2, but I can't in any good judgment objectively say it was a phenomenal game). It's a god damned shame that Mercury Steam didn't listen to Kojima and the actual critiques of LoS 1 and build on that instead of trying to make a game that could satisfy fans of LoS AND Iga-style metroidvania.

At which point the question of reporting on a project or promoting it comes into play. Even if there's no financial remuneration involved a link directly to give money to Iga could show editorial/authorial bias.

Information here is presented clean and without unnecessary fluff.
