A patch for Spira on PlayStation 4...

A recent posting on the Square Enix blog by Kaori Takasue (Product Manager, Square Enix) has revealed that Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster for PlayStation 4 is receiving an update patch. Since the release of the game back in May 2015, many fans have been vocal about a few glaring technical issues and bugs that have shown up in their games. These include audio bugs that resets background music after each battle and various issues with the RNG percentage of monster encounters and enemy abilities.

The patch for the game is now live and can be downloaded by simply booting up the game onto your PlayStation 4. Its great to see a company keeping tabs on the quality of their game for hardcore fans long after its initial release. Kaori’s blog post ensured fans that the company has been listening intently to a lot of the feedback on all of their games and thanked fans for their ongoing support. This approach from the company has been echoed in other titles from Square Enix, such as the upcoming Final Fantasy XV and its demo on PlayStation 4, Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae.

Final Fantasy X/X2 HD Remaster was originally released on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita before being ported over to Sony’s next generation console. The game supports cross-save functionality between all of your PlayStation devices via Cloud Saves, allowing you to continue your progress between all of your PlayStation consoles. Some hardcore Final Fantasy fans have asked, and even petitioned, Square Enix to bring Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster to PC. No word has come from Square Enix as of yet regarding any sort of PC or Steam release, but it wouldn’t be surprising to hear something down the line. Other Final Fantasy titles, including Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and other series remasters, have been released on Steam over the past few years. Hopefully with their attention to fan feedback, Square Enix can bring Tidus and the gang over to Steam users sometime soon.
