Sony has some of the worst ideas lately…… Ps now… Ps4k…… Microsoft has backwards already and didnt have to upgrade their whole console. Seems like Sony is turning into Disney and trying to reap as much profit as humanly possible by making upgraded consoles adding services to rent games. instead of buy them or adding backwards to allow you to play from a disc you own… specifically the ps3 games. They are adding ps2 back wards but whats the point…. kinda … leap backwards in retrospect to Microsoft xbox one… with inferior hardware… This is un acceptable and I wont purchase their 4k system even if they make games for the system that only work for the 4k… Wouldnt purchase it even if it was discounted to 100 bucks… im not buying into their schemes they can lose money on this and learn from mistakes to not push console upgrades and work with what they already have. Sony has lost its touch …….. if they continue this strategy ill just go to xbox or pc and forget sony ever existed.

In reply to Dameon Percival. relax its for 4k movies. sony announced this at CES,but now they figured out how to make it a 2 in 1 console and 4k movie playback machine just like the original ps3s were compared to toshibas $1000 bluray only machines back in the day

In reply to Kels. Yeah I was waiting for the slim model anyway so I figured I will just get the PS4K especially if it features enhanced enhanced graphics and power. Could care less about the 4K resolution as I am not getting a 4K TV anytime soon.

Bullshit! Not everyone thinks this is acceptable. I don’t like it, regardless of who does it. Sucks and I don’t want to upgrade my consoles every 2-3 years.

Now if MS and Sony offered a buy back or trade up option, maybe I’d feel better about them doing this. Likewise the cost of the potential upgrade being significantly more than current standard model just bothers me even though I KNOW it should cost more.

Anyway don’t be so butthurt by the comments of people you already presume to be Sony fans. Don’t give into further insanity to expect something different or pop in to say, see look at the hypocrisy. You just look like the homeless person on the street talking to themselves.

Case and point I said I didn’t like this but you clearly didn’t read my previous comment…you only seemed to reflect on the positive comments about this.

In reply to Kels. Yup If my PS4 hadn't already broke then I probably wouldn't consider this new PS4 but usually its the second PlayStation sku that is built better. Last gen PS3 is a great example my phat died but my slim is still going strong.

Man this just sucks, I dont kind of don’t like this. It’s seems that MS and Sony are looking at upgrading the current hardware, even if only by a bit. I’m not pleased, and feel like I use to when I was regularly upgrading parts on my PC.

Welp since my PS4 is already broken I guess once I get it repaired I’ll keep it only to play Uncharted 4 than sell it once I beat it to have some money to go towards a PS4.5 If only Sony wouldn’t keep screwing up shipping the box(coffin) to my house.
