I care because the AAA title I looked out for as a multiplat release as a fan like many others would have performed a whole lot better if the exclusivity wasn’t signed in the first place for the failing console and Microsoft’s handling of the release date wasn’t this piss poor. It’s simply not going to reach 2 million on the console which is guaranteed at this point.

But when Aaron Greenburg broke the news, he did not say Xbox One. He just gave a general sales number.

Why do you care how much it’s going to sell in the end exactly? The third game is in development already and like I’ve said dozens of times the game is doing fine on the xbox one. Vgchartz (which I know isn’t massively accurate but it’s as close as you can get to a sales breakdown) estimates the Xbox one physical sales at 900k. With digital added in, baring in mind it was the top selling digital game on the xbox one over Christmas it should easily be over a million on Xbox one. The 360 sales are just extra at this point. If the game can sell over 2 million on xbox one over the year (which it can easily) it will not be a failure. This is baring in mind it’s yet to release on the leading console.

I have kids too, and they are 1 and 6 and a 12 year old in the city with my ex and as I sat here this morning I realized how immature and absurd my comments were to you. However you put it, there is no denying fact that there was indeed a significant contribution from 360 sales across US and UK combined. Well the console exclusivity on X1 didn’t work in any respect for a TR franchise that is supposed to sell well as a standard AAA title from reputed devs. It was a complete d**k move. This when taking into consideration how TR 2013 sold on prev gen consoles. My worry is now about the delay on the PS4 release which will lower its chances of selling there too. I will get to try it on PC with full glory when it releases by the end of this month.

Never said it was a failure! The mistake is making it exclusive and the game didn’t sell much. It could’ve sold more if it released on all platforms. Microsoft paid the exclusivity and for what? It didn’t close the big gap of console sales against the competition! Before calling somone stupid, look in the mirror first! It takes one to know one…

No….. it wasn’t. When they announced it they said the over 1 million sales was for the Xbox One. Alone. And they said well over 1 million sells. And even if it was a combination of the 360 an One would it really matter?
MS and SE had been saying from the beginning that ROTTR was doing fine… The gaming media created their own narrative and ran with it. They do this to try and discredit the X1, all their games get these loosely based reports tossed at them so there cant be any celebration of the console. Like Halo 5 came out and broke records…. but that got spun into Halo 5 is the worst selling Halo even though it is currently sitting between well over 4 million units and 6 million sold… clearly a triumph…. not to mention best MP experience this gen.

This huge success is now called a huge mistake….. WTF. Xbox gamers got early access to a great game and bought and continue to buy it. Some how this has turned in to a failure. As for SE there game which is being critically acclaimed and has found great success already soon comes to 2 more platforms with more people on them….. after already racking up money with MS……. Stupid pony.

Hey John, I want to apologize to you for my rude and racist comments. Sometimes I let my anger get the best of me and I get out of hand. These console wars should not get so out of hand and my comments are uncalled for, so I apologize and hope you will except. I suffer from PTS and sometimes I get stupid. The 360 barely sold anything, in the UK it sold 15% on the 360. The number is “well over a million” so it could be anything. They put Halo 5 into the same category, and that’s got to be on 3-4 million at least. The game is still selling and it’s got two more launches in the pipeline, not only that but it has a season pass and microtransactions. Don’t worry about the game, it’s done just fine on the xbox one and a third game is already being worked on, which is probably why this whole deal has been put in the first place.

When that 1 million sales number was announced, it was the total number of sales including X360.
Although it’s likely that it has sold over 1 million on Xbox One by today.

Apples and oranges comparison there. Playstation has a much bigger userbase and fallout was one of the biggest games of 2015. You don’t know what the sales expectations are so you can’t deem it a failure. When compared to other xbox one exclusives it’s done well and it’s still selling.
