Honestly, I’m not excited for KH3. I’m actually concerned. KH used to have fantastic plot, and great writing. But then Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep came out, and ruined the series story. Not only are you usually not actually chosen by the keyblade because BBS brought in the keyblade ceremony, but it had shitty characters (Aqua, Ventus, Terra) that are poorly written, not true friends based on the way they interact, and had monotone voice acting. On top of this BBS had terrible gameplay. If you wanted brainless spamming and the illusion of variety, BBS Command Deck is for you. Also, BBS had terribly designed bosses, and terribly designed and unbalanced gameplay that basically forced you to play Ventus or Aqua to do the optional content.

BBS story was also just really uninteresting and really boring, with poor attempts to tug at your heartstrings. DDD is no different (it has bad story, with the inclusion of time travel, DDD didnt help, it made the series plot even worse), though the gameplay is better in DDD than BBS. Though Re: Coded imo was the only enjoyable handheld gameplay wise and pacing wise of all four of them.

I can see that, Complexity of plot aside, though, I think plenty of people would prefer CoD because it’s simply more relatable. They’re both fantasy, in a way, but tales of duty, betrayal, and nationalism might strike more chords (cords?) than amnesia and reincarnation.

A spin-off is any game that isn’t a main numbered one. Anything not KH1, KH2, or KH3 is a spin-off. This isn’t up for debate. Those are spin offs, bro.

The Xbox is not inferior to the ps4 the x one has an es RAM buffer which makes up for the gddr3 vs gddr5 difference. Sony only allowed 6/8 cores for games only recently opening up 7/8 processor cores. Must developers won’t update thier games for the 7/8 cores. Ps4 only games suck compared to the smaller amount of x one only games. PS+ network is a joke. Stop paying for ps+ your free games are history. Xbox gold members get to keep our free games we got. And your ps4 version of backwards compatibility is complete crap. Pay 100 dollars a year to stream ps-ps3 games from sony servers to your system when you have a stack of ps3 games collecting dust. Us Xbox users can put a 360 disc in the Xbox one and play it. FREE!! The ps4 is crap 500 gig HDD 425 usable for end user and an avg. 50 gig disc install. yes you can replace it that’s another 100-150 on top of console price

I understand the story just fine. If you played the games in order of release then you should understand, but if you don’t despite doing that, I don’t know what you were doing. You must have not been paying attention.

When people make stuff up like that, it’s pretty clear this was never a question of “Should we?”

Instead, backed up by nonsense, this was always “I don’t,” from the perspective of the author.

What? Square Enix have never promised that Kingdom Hearts III would be released at “this time” or said “let’s add another year of production” nor said any year they are aiming to release it in. Stephanie you have been reading fake news articles if you think they have ever promised it for a specific time frame.

All they have said was “Now in Development”. Which while frustrating, I prefer that to saying a date/month/year that they are ultimately unable to hit like so many developers/publishers do. The game will most likely be released in 2017 so there’s not too long to go now.

Better told, or simply better? In either case, it’s something people play KH for, while it’s relatively forgettable for a far more popular franchise that changes far less. If CoD can still hold interest for millions, why can’t KH?

Hell, if Call of Duty can keep drawing in the same people every year with almost NO significant changes and a forgettable story, why can’t the much more varied Kingdom Hearts? And yeah, I get that it’s a different genre with a different fanbase, but why not look at the RPG fanbase the same way? It’s not as if Disney characters are the main draw to the game, or some other youth-pulling aspect. It’s got a great story with great original characters and pretty satisfying combat. These are things fans of the genre- not just the franchise- enjoy, so unless they don’t like games LIKE Kingdom Hearts anymore, they’re still gonna look forward to this entry.

Of course, there will be people who have moved on in one way or another; the same is true, though, of every franchise. That’s not something limited to this series that hasn’t seen a main entry in a while.
