It’s actually episode 36 of a long running podcast of ours!

Besides Mario and Pikmin.. What other Nintendo exclusive is launching on the Wii U??? Zelda is about 2 years away from seeing the light of day. While I’m sure Zombi u will be cool and all, is it really enough to convince someone to spend $360 on it ( cost of console and game with tax).. And as for the other third party titles, half of those games come out before the Wii U versions. If someone is set on playing NBA 2k13 or Call Of Duty on Day one then that means not getting the Wii U version at all…

Graphics aren’t everything, and even if they were they wouldn’t look much better on the Wii U, if they do at all. The issues are 1) Lack of appeal – why would someone spend over $300 extra to buy a system to play a game they can play on their current system? 2) Lack of killer exclusives (at least at launch.) and 3) Feature set. The online infrastructure is still unclear, will there even be an achievement system? These are pretty big questions marks.

Overall, it will probably sell well. It’s still NIntendo. Heck, TVii looks interesting enough to sell the console to a lot of households. I’m not too excited for it right now though; hopefully they prove me wrong.
