You have a knack for not staying on topic lol. Allgames: The only thing that doesn’t change is the install base in your scenario (trade in all consoles and buy Xbox One S), so software sales wouldn’t move very much at all. A sale of an S still counts to overall sales counts.

Chimp: Reading off the specs of the console doesn’t answer the question “Is it doomed to fail?”. Realistically, it could fail because it’s sandwiched between the One users who likely don’t have 4K TVs and the mysterious Scorpio coming around next year.

Regardless, the S in an upgrade. It’s not a required purchase. And Microsoft is still profitable. “Catching Sony” is lipservice for the imaginary war.

but what will the native resolution be? if its 900p/60 then upscaling it to 4k will make it look horrible since 4k is 8x the resolution of 1080p let alone 900p

npds wont matter till the boost in sales holds more then a few months and im thinking it wont even then it wont matter if it has no ww impacted

if someone trade in their xbox1 for an xbox-s then there is no gain.. microsoft is selling the xbox1 for $219 now and the slim launches in less than a week, if few people have a 4k tv then why the hell are they buying this. i think people like to preorder stuff just to say they did,but dont have the intention of buying it, hypothetically if all 20million xbox1 owners trade in their system for an “S” do you say microsoft has 40million consoles sold, or still 20million since one wipes out the other?remember phil spencer said its the same generation.they only catch sony if new people buy the s and the early adopters keep their current system. so by selling out on amazon and best buy will you say microsoft will win next months npds?.
