Halo 5 didn’t exactly set the world on fire not sure announcing Halo 6 will help. I’d rather they announce a new third person action adventure perfect dark reboot and considering Halo 1-3 is what’s still driving Halo; a reimagining of Halo 1-3 in third person could do wonders.

The biggest difference here is that VR is something that entire industries are getting behind and trying to push. Kinect was something that Microsoft wanted to push under their own agenda to give them an edge. Sony has a bigger responsibility to help the VR push than Microsoft did to make Kinect succeed. Many companies are investing in VR, and not just gaming companies.

Halo 5 has only been out for a year. Halo is known for taken a 3-4 year cycle for each mainline title.

I feel like even if it were announced, we need a lot more than that in order to justify the Scorpio.

Isn’t it funny how the closure of one studio leads to a full discussion about support for a optional device after 4 months, but a mandatory device gets unbundled in 2013 and not one discussion from 2013 to 2017 about support for those 5 million (at the time of unbundling) people who had to buy a device they might not of wanted. But PSVR wasn’t even a topic on this episode. The discussion only lead to that because Sony closed a studio that happened to work on VR stuff. It’s not like we approached it like “Hey, let’s make a topic talking about how shitty PSVR is right now”.

Thanks for checking out the show and sharing this insightful video. You make some very good points about platinum and I believe they are equally to blame as well here. The main reason why Microsoft got the most hate though is because of their track record for canceling games so far this gen. Fable legends, phantom dust, and project spark all got the ax and some people are still annoyed about that. When you add in the fact that the majority of games that we know about just don’t seem to be quite as exciting or even unique then I can def see why many are angry with the company now. We will see what Scorpio ends up being but I do believe no matter what people are def going to find something to complain about with that system and they set themselves up with that due to all the promises they have made thus far lol

The topic was centered around PlayStation VR but since you state that we have to bring up Microsoft as well in this discussion then let’s go ahead and do that now lol yes the Kinect was a failure and Sony has done a better job of supporting PlayStation vr so far than Microsoft has ever done with the Kinect plain and simple. I personally think that we were very critical of Xbox for this whole episode so I’m a little confused as to why we needed to also mention this too lol. We get it you aren’t a fan of Microsoft but no company is perfect either and everyone should remember that to these companies we are all just consumers and they only care about our money nothing more nothing less lol this applies to Microsoft Sony and Nintendo in case that wasn’t clear before lol sure Sony will continue to put out more games at the end of the day that people care about but the philosophy remains the same and that is that it’s all about money lol

I kinda think Phil is into small projects like Recore so I’d expect smaller idie games like Ori 2, indies. Also Xbox has spent a lot of money buying Minecraft, and Gears of war so I think they’d like to spend less especially with more Halo and Gears on the horizon.
