Im just not feeling it grim. The Witchers combat was bad too and I still havent beaten it because of the combat although the story is great. I dont think Ill be getting this day one.

-weapon skills

-party commands / team-up attacks

-quick warps, perfect-timed evasions, armiger manouvres all of these is what makes it look good in the vidios you see you played a tech demo that is all

I’m less excited about getting this game.

I dont recall mentioning the targetting. I was more concerned about the feel. Maybe I have high standards but hitting enemies did not feel responsive or riveting at all. This doesnt mean the game will play like shit throughout all of it. I’m sure getting summons, other weapons and magic will add to it but the core foundation is among the worst action combat I’ve ever played.

I’m not even asking it to feel as on-point as Devil May Cry or Bayonetta but it doesn’t even feel as good as any Kingdom Hearts game I’ve played and its being developed by the same team behind the Kingdom Hearts series. So yeah, thats a huge thumbs down for me. I WANT to like the gameplay more since i’m a huge FF fan but i have to be critical BECAUSE I’m a huge FF fan. The combat here is not reflective of 10 year development, nor is it reflective of 5 years if you consider the development hell it went through. But if you like it, great! Different strokes. i’m glad you’ll be able to have more fun with the combat than I will.
