More like denouncing everything Sony did good

Tor, is there anyway in the world you guys would do even a monthly show just for the fans. Just one show a month…..you, hiphop, John Shaw, Oog, Dirty Bird, Ice etc.

That’s a question I want answered. I would say it’s to prevent overload on the servers but since you can do it unlimited times that can’t be it. Like I said, this is a new feature and I’m sure they’ll improve/change things in the future.

I still don’t see how Share Play is a DRM feature. DRM is supposed to prevent you from doing things (essentially). It’s probably just easier to do it through your PSN account. Although WHY that is remains to be seen. There are a lot of questions about Share Play that Sony needs to answer. Still, I don’t see how this is straight up DRM.

I agreed with you until the last part. Share play is a DRM feature period. Especially when its tied to your PSN account. Why is there a session limit in Share Play is 60 minutes, but you have unlimited sessions?

Read the article. Here’s the thing to consider: Share Play doesn’t come with all of the restrictions that MS would have wanted. There is no 24 hour check and there is no mandatory install of a game. Yeah, something like Share Play COULD have been possible on the Xbox One but it was never a feature MS originally pointed out unlike Sony who flat out did back in Feb.

This is why the two aren’t really connected. People like the Share Play feature but not all of the restrictions MS had in place.

Also, remember that DRM means Digital Rights Management. The only thing it has in common with Share Play is that it’s digital. DRM and Share Play aren’t synonymous.

They do actually. Microsoft had this idea before launch, but it was eventually killed do their strict DRM policies. Share Play is Sony’s version of the “virtual couch”, without the strict DRM, but the concepts are the same.

MS got bashed because they tried to put DRM on physical discs. What part of that don’t you understand? DRM has been on digital content for all consoles with an online component. Let me try to get this through your head one last time. Digital=DRM, you don’t own it, companies telling you what you can and can’t do with THEIR product that YOU paid for. Physical disc=NO DRM, you own it, you do whatever you want with it. MS tried to change that and THAT’S where the backlash comes from. Why don’t you think people are not complaining about the DRM on Games for Gold on the Xbone? Because it’s digital and not discs. Now listen very carefully, I’m against DRM on discs. My favorite movie in recent memory is the Avengers and I bought the Blu-Ray disc and I OWN it. I don’t let Netflix tell me when I can watch it and what I can and can’t do with it. If I watch Netflix I understand that they tell me what I can and can’t watch but if I buy a disc I’ll be damned if MS, Netflix, or iTunes will tell me what the hell I can do with my disc so your Netflix, iTunes, and Spotify analogy does not apply. Do you get it now?

I didn’t imply that he was wrong. Share Play is a feature because of DRM, disc or no disc. Gamers fail to realize this, but bash Microsoft because of it. And spare me with that you’re against DRM BS. If you’re against DRM, stop using PSN, XBL, Netflix, iTunes, Spotify, etc. Have you heard of GoG? They’re the only outlet that I know that sells their games DRM free.

I think you are the one who is misinformed. MS tried to force DRM on physical discs. DRM is on all digital content and everyone knows this but it’s not on discs and MS tried to change that. Those who are against DRM, like me, buy all physical copies of games so that we can do what ever we want with our copy of the game that we own whether that be lend it, trade it, or sell it. MS tried to take my right to do what I want with MY discs. That’s the problem people have with MS and DRM and there is a mistrust between MS and gamers so Tony told the truth.

I really wanted to hear more about some of the new features on PS4 and the good deals Microsoft has been throwing around, but nothing really came of it because you had a to got on an anti Sony rant. I’m sick of hearing why people hate these companies. It be one thing if there was something significant, but no all it is is the same petty bullshit all the time.
