I guess its not for everyone. I'm in love with the game (instantly one of my favorite games ever) and I have a short list of gripes but the un-repairable weapons isn't one of them. I actually enjoy that last hit with a weapon, seems to do extra damage.

Gripe list
1. Fighting the same rock monster and cyclops "mini-bosses" multiple times (wish there was more variety)
2. can't chop down the wood stilts of the moblin bases when trees are easy to chop down
3. framerates in TV mode on the switch
4. couldn't swim under a little foot bridge in one of the towns that Link clearly could have fit through (very minor annoyance)

The mechanic is fine but the way it is implemented is terrible. It should be like Dark Souls where you can at least repair the weapon.

I'm surprised you guys don't like the weapon breaking mechanic in Zelda. It really teaches you to manage your inventory and get good with each type of weapon. It diversifies the gameplay. It prevents you from being too overpowered and every scenario being easy.
