Again, I think you just don’t like what he has to say — which is coincidentally enough exactly what Carlos and I say about the Switch. Him having it means absolutely nothing. If we were to send someone it would be Chris because he knows more about Nintendo than all of us combined. And again, if he had a Switch he wouldn’t think any differently than he does now so I don’t see why he needs to have a Switch to speak on it. It seems to me that you don’t like what he has to say and want to use him not having a Switch as a way to discredit him, even though EVERYTHING he has said is based on facts.

I own a Switch and I have to agree with Tony. I hate the joycons. The buttons are directly below the right thumb stick on the left joycon and the buttons are directly above the left thumb stick on the right joycon and I can’t get comfortable with it which makes playing it undocked pretty much a no go for me. It also forced me to buy the pro controller just to play comfortably while docked. Which brings me to my second biggest issue, there are many serious frame rate dips when docked. However, Zelda ia awesome.

I’ve heard this spiel on the show many times. It usually ends with you saying something like “fuckin Nintendo, let’s move on”.

Back to my original point, Imagine ABC News asked someone from the Koalition to come on prime time to talk about the new Switch console and give thoughts and impressions. You sure as hell don’t send Chris, the guy who’s never used one.

I also disagree that Chris is a hater. The dude spits FACTS. Nothing he says comes from a place of hate. I honestly do not see it. Also, as Carlos said, someone can state opinions on factual things. I gave my opinions on Xbox One for years based off factual evidence. When I finally got one, nothing changed because the facts remained the same. Me owning it doesn’t change the truth about it.

Chris has seen the reports of Switch malfunctions and has heard first-hand accounts from users. As far as I’m concerned, his opinion is just as valid as mine even though I actually own it. Actually, Chris’ opinion is even MORE valid than mine since he has worked for Nintendo and all of his predictions for the company have come true. Again, the dude is not hating. He sees what is happening and speaks from a place of fact. Although, like myself, he is annoyed that so many publications misinform or flat out lie to their readers about Nintendo. I’m totally with him on that one.

From what i can tell Chris only talks about his thoughts on factual information i.e. supply shortages, inflated accessory prices, reports on faulty hardware(joycon) etc.

Chris is not going to tell you how bad the right joycons feels on medium size hands like I would or Tony would.

Or how awesome and intuitive the hardware is and how it can replace the 3ds and vita, like Brett.

People can have opinions on actual facts and be able to speak informatively to an audience with the same amount of validity as someone how live and dies by his/her switch.

Yeah Tony, I don’t mind hearing you or Carlos’ opinions because you own the device and speak from experience. Chris just hasn’t used it, yet he is the most passionate hater of the group. I don’t expect his mind to change…I’ve listened to the show for a long time (big fan) and kindof know what to expect.

I think you missed the point. Part of my comments were regarding Chris’s opinions on Nintendo as a company but another part were regarding Chris’s opinions on the Switch console. As far as I could tell, Chris doesn’t own the Switch, nor has he used one. The iPad comparison is valid and straightforward. Chris’s opinions on the company hold a lot of weight and he can definitely extrapolate his understanding to the products they create but its just hard to accept his loud opinions when he hasn’t really had the chance to see for his/her self.

I have a Switch. So does Carlos. We’ve been playing Zelda and we STILL say the Switch is a piece of crap. It is underpowered compared to the PS4 and Xbox One and the joy-cons are a complete joke. I guarantee that if Chris had a Switch he wouldn’t change his mind about it.

I thought the Switch was junk before I had it and now that I own it, I believe this even more. It’s easily one of the most cheapily designed devices I’ve ever purchased. You can’t say owning it will change your mind because it hasn’t changed mine or Carlos’. Owning it doesn’t change things. The Switch is, and always will be, a piece of crap…. and that’s the opinion of an owner.

Your comments speaks to your biases from what people told you about the ipad in your example. So your opinion on ipads weren’t founded in fact but on others opinions. Chris as I understand it is giving you his opinions based on what he actually knows about the switch.

Your example is like someone saying, I hate green people because my dad said green people are stupid.

Chris is saying I dont like green people because green people have treated me like shit.

I get what youre trying to say but its not the same thing.

It will add “more” validity. I know he worked for Nintendo and has a good understanding about how they operate their company. I just think anyone who actually owns the Switch and plays Breath of the Wild for a week will see that it is indeed a pretty cool device. Try it out, see for yourself; you might enjoy yourself.

I remember back in 2010 when the original iPad was released. I was younger and would make comments about how it was really stupid, “why would anyone want a giant ipod touch?”, “it doesn’t even have a camera!”, “it costs $500!” etc…. Turns out, the iPad was* a great device and a hugely successful product that made the tablet market explode. I didn’t fully understand the device and what it offered until I owned one and used it myself. I was just making all my judgments from what others had said.

I own the Switch, I enjoy it. I don’t need Chris to agree with me, I just think opinions hold more weight when they come from experience. I will happily listen to Chris talk crap for an entire episode once he gets his own and comes to that conclusion.
