On the destiny news, I think one of the man reasons was the engine for the game. I remember they said that in order to make a small change to the game it would take at least a few days to make changes, so I think that is why the character doesnt carry over and they made a new one(which is fucking bullshit if you sunk so many hours in destiny 1).
