Questions for the show.

1) When you look at the individual components of the Nintendo Switch and how much it costs, do you think that they are way over priced? I mean, one joy con controller is $49.99!

2) In your estimation, how many units would Nintendo need to sell for the Switch to be deemed as being a success?

3) Okay, we’ve heard from Nintendo that they are aiming for a different demographic of gamers compared to the ones catered for by the likes of Sony and Microsoft. I can’t help thinking that a load of bs personally. Anyway, given that there’s the hype around the Scorpio and the huge momentum behind Sony….is the Nintendo Switch dead of arrival? Have the gamers been left burnt by Wii U debacle and how much longer can Nintendo possibly continue to bank on people nostalgia? And as a follow on question, how appealing is the tablet gaming element that the Nintendo Switch given what the current tablets out there right now? Sure, they don’t have Nintendo games but that niche element that Nintendo are appealing to isn’t a key selling point in my opinion.

The PS3 caught up to the 360 in the end but the install base was even. Most of last gen the 360 had a larger install base. And again, I was right in the end. I don’t understand how you can’t understand how this happened. It was clear as day that Uncharted 4 would outsell Halo 5. I broke it down in that editorial.

Didn’t PS3 have a bigger install base than 360 and NO UNCHARTED GAME LAST GEN outsold the Halo games. This is why I don’t understand how you come up with this.

Bro, I get around in a wheelchair so I fully know this. I can’t travel to most places on earth because I won’t be able to get around. It sucks but that’s how it is.

I don’t know if I’ll bring it back up on the show (unless it happens naturally during an ep) but the more I think about it, the more I think the news story we talked about is less about race and more about people just ignoring handicapped people being tortured. Still a race component but the fact that you have the story you mentioned and the one we did be ignored says a lot.

Nintendo is the Mario box, Xbox is the multi player shooter box, and the PlayStation is the gamer’s box.

Well I’ll just answer your question and say I believe handicapped/disabled people are still some of the most discriminated against people in our society. Do you think developer/publishers know their game is bad?

It takes years to make a game and Its always struck my curiosity if the developers know that what they are putting together, ultimately sucks. You gotta know 6-9 months in that what your making isn’t very good. I’m not talking about those games that are made well or generally liked but have a few problems. I’m talking about those games that just flat out drop the ball in every way.

Do you think the developers are in denial to just push through and finish for a paycheck or do they ever care?

What do you think of people who are not willing to compensate an artist financially, but instead offer a promise of exposure for the work? Is it ever worth it to take these free jobs in hopes that it will lead to more lucrative ones?

Question#3 (A personal question)

When you draw something for somebody, and are paid for it, how exactly do you pay taxes on that? What are you supposed to fill out, especially if you don’t know the actual names of the people you’re selling to? See, every real “job” I’ve had up to this point in my life has automatically deducted taxes from my paycheck, so this isn’t something I’ve had to worry about before.

How are you not understanding it? Did you not read my editorial? A lot of factors, but the bigger install base of the PS4 alone was a reason. The fact is that I was RIGHT, despite you not understanding why me (and the rest of Throwdown) said this.

We do create headlines here, because we run this site. But we’re not the only gaming website in existence, there are hundreds if not thousands. Our point is that Nintendo and Microsoft will likely be the talk of the town across all those sites this year. If you listen to that episode you’ll also hear that we didn’t completely rule out Sony, and I remember saying that Sony is definitely capable of stealing the show if they make the right decisions this year.
