Question#1
Weapon Durability: Yay or Nay

Breath of the Wild has made gamers think differently about weapon durability that's for sure. Some like it, others hate it. Up until now, there haven't been a lot of games that have made it a big topic in the gaming world. I think Zelda does it well for the most part. It makes you actually use different weapons, which is great. I do think that the weapons are a bit too weak, but they shouldn't be much more durable than that. Which side you do fall on, Throwdown crew? Are you for it? Against it? Are there any games that do it better?

Question#2
Will there ever be a console that surpasses the PS2 in total units sold?

The PS2 sold 155+ million units. The last console to come even close to that range was the Wii, and that was a little over 100 million. The PS4 is currently selling at a great pace, with 53.4 million total units sold as of last January. The Switch is having a great launch so far, but that is no way indicative of what total sales will be. Do you think either of these consoles have a chance? Do you think there will ever be a console that crosses the 155+ million mark?

Question#3
Are video game information leaks a result of hate?

With the recent flurry of leaks leading up to E3 I got to thinking how this kind of thing happens. It's one thing if you happen to be at a public event and they say no video, but you still film some stuff. It's another thing if it's your job and you know you'll be fired if you leak info. If it's the case of a friend telling you some stuff why would you risk their livelihood by going public?

I can only imagine that it comes from a negative place because people can't be stupid enough to knowingly leak information that's going hurt someone if they're caught.

Hey Throwdown crew! How are you all doing?

My questions:

1.) With the Quake Champions beta just dropping recently — do you think it will find success in today's age of casual shooters like Overwatch, and Destiny? Quake Champions like its predecessors is a twitch, skill-based first person (arena) shooter, that is hard to master and requires high level of play. Will the gamers of this generation be interested in it at all? Also, what do you think of its business model? Does it help or hurt the game?

2.) Which is the lesser evil among these? A.) Free-to-Play model, B.) Micro-transactions in full retail games, C.) When you have to buy a DLC in order to raise your level cap.

Free-to-Play might not look bad for most people, but I have a problem when a triple A, full retail game (that I bought) becomes Free-to-Play. This happened to Evolve — which I absolutely loved playing in single-player. The bot AI in that game is actually pretty good! When it became Free-to-Play, they changed a lot of things in the game to fit the new business model, which ruined the experience for me. After all that, the game died anyway in just a few months after the transition.

My questions (apologies for the blocks of text!):

1.) With the Quake Champions beta just dropping recently — do you think it will find success in today's age of casual shooters like Overwatch, and Destiny? Quake Champions like its predecessors is a twitch, skill-based first person (arena) shooter, that is hard to master and requires high level of play. 2.) Which is the lesser evil among these? A.) Free-to-Play model, B.) Micro-transactions in full retail games, C.) When you have to buy a DLC in order to raise your level cap.

3. Do you guys like to capture your gameplay or take screenshots when you are playing? If you have videos or screenshots of your gameplay, would you care to share them to us fans? I only saw Tony's gameplay of MGS V, which I enjoyed watching. What I really want to see is Brett's recordings (if he has them) of his settlements in Fallout 4 — since like him, I love the building system in that game as well. Here is my Fallout 4 settlement in Sanctuary Hills, in case you are interested. My other gameplay videos of Bloodborne and Dark Souls III can be found here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_UgDx3IG6IBejyXPktLxOg/featured

1. What animal machines would you like to see next in the Horizon: Zero Dawn sequel?(2.6 million in two weeks, sequel coming for sure). I would like to see a cheetah machine that you can't outrun and would be hard to hit due to fast movements and a Gorrila machine that is strong and can climb trees.

2. Should Nintendo offer a data plan for the Switch?

Lol I wouldnt buy a switch for Zelda or Mario.

And I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Mario game coming out this fall isn't going to set the world on fire and wont be a system seller. It will review similarly to Zelda just because its Mario and it's going to be called revolutionary.

Nintendo is building a different gaming space with the Switch but it's still DOA without 3rd party support. It cannot compete with the big boy systems. There will be no parity for obvious reasons with ported PS4 and X big boy games. The quality of games should be better than the DS models and Vita. So they are truly somewhere in between. No console operates in the middle development space all by themselves but I handheld can.

So I think Nintendo will be rebranding the Switch purely as a handheld with console qualities before the end of the year. Because sells of the Switch after Zelda in the middle of the year will be abysmal.
