Is gaming becoming like music where the good stuff is underground?

A lot of popular music is crap to be frank and to find the good stuff you kind of have to look underground (not literally). Is gaming becoming the same way? I’m not saying that there aren’t some good Triple A games or anything because there are, but are the business practices killing the soul and passion of Triple A game devs because of corporate?
