The game was too repetetive. Ok. Bioware's excuse is that it's about the city who's name I have forgotten nor care about. No new areas. Just the same Dark Town, HIghtown, Low town, Beach, over and over again.

The ending didn't help too. It sucked way too much.

Bioware should have continued the story of the Grey Warden from the 1st game. It could have been a bit better than this crap game.

Anyone who says otherwise is a fanboy. Everyone hates fanboys.

Hm. I love D&D. Liked Baldurs-all of them, Icewind Dale's, KotOR's, NWN, you name it. Liked all of the good role paying games, I even liked Dao. But this..THIS is pure crap. "A idiot"? Huge improvement? Lore type Rpg? A LOT of different choices/paths? Christ. It took me 2 days, about 16-24 hours to finish this many choice game of yours.
Well, i think that someone here should really change his career alright.
Sad that all of the HUGE improved LORE Rpg's arent so great, dont you think?
Atleast Bioware did smt right. They made a good game for a bunch retarded people who like to play them before the game comes out:D, no offense, I too usually download smt and play before the game offfically comes out, but man…your opinion is as retarded as are you.Clearly.
It is a real shame that Bioware fucked all the many fans who loved all of their games since guys like our Oliver here was still a sucking babe, with such crap. Wholeheartedly agree with Reviewer.

I could not agree more! I started playing DA2 two days ago and I'm bored out of my mind. It is the most linear RPG I've ever played. The characters are bland as broth too. I have a hard time targeting enemies unlike the first game. I'll click an enemy and my character just stands there with this thumb firmly planted in his ass. I click again, furiously. The character turns a little, and then does nothing. Finally I'm yelling at the monitor mashing buttons and clicking the mouse in a fit of rage and the character gets mid slice when BAM! One of the mages kills everything on the screen. It's like, WTF. Does the player have any useful input or is it a puppetshow? I don't understand how there's any level of complexity or talent required to click enemies. It doesn't matter what one you click. It will die and you will move on to talk in dialogue screens for the next two hours. The voice acting is TERRIBLE in my opinion. There's no emotion. Also, the women are all ugly. That also sucks. I give it a 2/10 because the developers obviously had two thumbs up each of their asses.

Couldn't agree more with the OP. I was going to write my own review but it's all well said here. Huge disappointment. I'm about I'd guess 3/4 of the way through the game. I could live with all of the hack and slash, the parts where I'm just hitting A over and over because there's no point in really picking out a target, and even the gay relationships which are unnecessarily PC. I could live with that if I only knew the plot. I have no idea what the point of the game is. Go here, get that, but for what? Basically everything I do is to level up. And what the heck is with the armor and most weapons issue? Why can't I outfit my NPC's the way I want to? Bioware took a game where the original was linear but not to a fault and made it completely restrictive.

The third photo down contains a massive spoiler for anyone partway through the game and should probably be replaced by something else. Seriously, that could ruin the ending for someone who has begun but not completed the game–most likely at this point, a majority of players.

This is the one of the very few negative DA2 reviews I can find, and I have to say I completely disagree. I think it's on a par with Origins (which was an awesome game), even though I like them for different reasons.

I'm terribly disappointed in this game. Where Bioware games used to be day one purchases for me, this will no longer be the case. From now on, I will either completely skip Bioware games or wait for the reviews and then the inevitable GOTY edition a couple of months (post-release).

It's a real pity since I still fondly remember Baldur's Gate, and regardless of its faults, I did thoroughly enjoy Dragon Age Origins, but DA 2 is a step in the wrong direction. If this is what EA and Bioware will be serving up, I will have to decline and vote with my wallet.

These games are garbage compared to the Mass Effect IP. Speaking specifically about the transition from original to sequel, Bioware did so much more for ME2 than they did for DA2.
