I totally agree with alex this is a fun fighting game,but I will say that there is a huge flaw with the rapid press when your facing a great ape like vegeta I liked it better in dbz 3 I am stuck in both hero mode and story mode cuz of the rapid press if you have completed the story mode please reply and pls tell me how to complete the rapid press

I agree with pretty much everything you have to say, yet I have no idea why you are being so argumentative. Does the fact that I gave it a “6 out of 10” mean I think it is an awful game? No, it does not. As stated in my review, the gameplay holds back an otherwise great shout out to the series.

i understand a lot of people don’t like the the chance button so to speak but if you really think about the anime think about all the one sided fights and think about how sometimes that person is able to get that one hit off or a rush so to speak it actually captures that its really not that deep of a fighter it doesn’t really have any skill to it but the fast pace action feels like dragon ball z i played many of dragon ball z games still dragon ball z legends for ps and Tenkaichi 3 are my favorites but this is a pretty good game but i can see whysome stuff dissapoints but its pretty good

 Sure, it doesnt have the throwbacks of its PS2 platform predecessors in terms of gameplay and the general distinction between button masher and finesse with the controller but lets look at the facts here…. Its pretty darn fun to play and i think its quite impressive as a standalone revision to some of the more glaring mistakes of, oh, lets say the last 3 DBZ games which have more going against them than this one mind you.

The fact that it is repetitive is a moot point too for a few reasons…. this game is definitely a friday night session with beers and mates game for one, as Raging Blast 2 proved to be in short order and secondly, its a fighting game. Pure and simple. I’d get a little worried if there was a re-enactment of  the Goku and Piccolo driving lessons smashed in there or a “shave Vegeta’s filthy moustache from GT” mini-game type of thing. Amusing, yes…. but not expected and harsh indeed to expect a cinematic experience hiding in everthing that can be interacted with. You need to take these things as they are on face value sometimes which includes being a bit realistic with expectation. Yes, it fell short of its titular boasting… Ultimate was too strong a word, but its honestly not that bad a buy if your into the franchise.    

UT is one of the more comprehensive titles in the series to date and unashamedly flaunts that fact. Hardcore DB followers will find a million and one excuses as to why the game missed the mark. To the casual observer with mild interest that never ventured anywhere north of just a “fan” of the series, the game is quite an experience and the true magic of it comes through. One thing I have personally been waiting for is the return of the completely and utterly ridiculous scale of destruction DBZ was known for. Its great to see its returned in aces and symbolises but one of many additions to the game that I get enjoyment from. 
 

I agree with u , i bought the game and took it back the next day. It just wasn’t up to par considering that dbz games have been out for quite a while.

This is such a great example as to why commenters could have to complete an IQ test before submitting their opinions.

I am not sure what you are referencing in my review specifically, but isn’t that what a review is? It is just a person’s opinion. If someone is interested in a game, they should try it out for themselves. I was excited for this game, but the gameplay held it back significantly for me. I am sorry you disagree, but I definitely do not think I came off as a “pretentious douche.”

Loading screens can get a bit annoying at times, but thankfully they have the pseudo-mini game to make it less annoying. I do not think it is a huge problem, and is not worth harping on too much. I am glad you enjoy the style of this game, but I respectfully disagree. I did not enjoy the fact that almost the entirety of combat is delegated to blindly picking a button, and hoping your opponent does not choose the same one. The fact that stuff like this is the majority of gameplay, and actual strategy and true *fighting* is stripped from the game, severely disappoints me.
