Well you have a point there... Still though, I wasn't a fan of that but I loved the combat so I guess it's a trade off of sorts...

"There are of course the occasional threats that Lara yells out, as she
is about to go toe-to-toe with a wave of enemies. While this is a nice
attempt to try and convey an emotional response from the character, the
lines come off as a bit cheesy and unnecessary in the larger scope of
things."

My impression of these instances was that it was supposed to be cheesey, in the sense that she thinks she's a hard nut when really she's still a shitty Lara...so to speak. Overconfidence or something. *shrugs*

That's a very valid point that you make about the lack of puzzles. Casual fans who aren't really into the franchise will miss out on the value of adding these types of things. Maybe the sequel will offer more, but for now this was definitely a letdown to not have them in this game.

I like the new action oriented approach, but it still doesn't mean they had to skimp out on the huge scale environmental puzzles, the main element that makes a tomb raider game. Hopefully it's only because this title is meant to invite newcomers to the series but they plan to put some proper puzzles in the sequel, and a few tombs too.
