The removal of the Fantastic Four and related skins from Marvel Heroes Online echoes this policy.

Part of it is Fox gets really tetchy over licensing issues, the bigger part is Fox will push out a completely crap movie to retain their film rights to the characters even if it damages the franchise (eg Wolverine Origins, Fantastic Four, X3).

Marvel is sick of pretending they’re fine with it, now they’ll just focus on Inhumans and start retconning their older characters out.
