Just listened to your take. After reflecting on a hand full of articles with people complaining that the extra $10 a year is too expensive and Sony is being unreasonable, this is my final thought on this. If you cannot afford an extra $10 a year for PSN, then this here gaming hobby is probably too expensive for you to begin with and you shouldn’t be gaming.

Sell your system, sell all your games, cancel all of your game service subscriptions and then use all that money youre saving to open a separate bank account to do something more meaningful for you with your time.

Oh wait, I think I’m wrong. The black “elite” xbox 360 added the Jasper board and HDMI support, didn’t it? I think I messed up my history. Sorry, too early in the morning.

However, the point is still valid, because the Xbox 360 slim ADDED the integrated wifi support (the older units needed the $120 adapter sold separately, so you got it added for free in the slim), also the slim was quiet.

Shame on you Tony; The Xbox 360 slim added the Jasper board which included the first support for HDMI output. Now the Xbox one slim adds a 10% power boost and HDR support with the latest HDMI 2.0a connectors. The PS4 slim adds nothing and takes away fiber optic (like the final 360 E-unit did), guess nobody needs a home theater or gaming headsets with PS4…

I expect the PS Slim to be $249.99. Anything more is a dumb move by Sony.

Ive been paying for ps+ since the service began. I personally have gotten my moneys worth through the service and have only had minor but reasonable complaints. However for me the benefits of the service have greatly outweighed those concerns. Im okay with the price increase because thats where I choose to game right now.

Since the price is increasing, my first question is, “what else am I getting?”, but then I also fundamentally understand that services increase in price over time. Whether its cable, phone, electricity, or heat, you can choose to accept it or refuse it, making the decision with your wallet.

Will people be able to afford the service after the increase? Will the improvements be obvious to past users of the service? New subscribers won’t know any different.

PS+ started with giving psp & ps1 games. That means people were paying $50 for minis & avatars at first, lol.
I purchase PS+ depending on the game. Mine expires in Oct. I’m not renewing until a specific game warrants it.
