At the core, no, but there are big differences nonetheless. And yeah, console gamers need to STFU about things they shouldn’t be complaining about. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: If you care about 1080p/60fps then buy a gaming rig and stop complaining that your console can’t consistently output games in that resoltion/frame rate.

I think console gamers expect more when they shouldn’t be with limited systems. I know what to expect from consoles so I never really get upset when they are lacking something that should be there. I understand the hardware and what it’s capable of. The thing is, both console and pc gamers all want to play games so are we really that different?

4) Ps1 had the Ps1 controller and then the Dualshock 1, Then there was the Dualshock 2 that didn’t need any revision, then there was the Sixaxis Controller that got a revision into the Dualshock 3 not counting that stupid Banana Dildo Controller we never got. I don’t disagree with that but you have to look at the people who play on PCs and consoles. They have very different mindsets and different demands/expectations of what they want their gaming systems to do for them. This is why I consider the two camps separate and not to be compared. Yeah, the hardware is more or less the same but the people who use them are very different.

But to PC gamers, it’s never ever a hassle. The way I look at it, and this is actually factual, the systems are all computers that run software. X1/PS4/PC all share the same architecture. I don’t believe that. I think if Destiny was current-gen only the A.I would have been a lot better. Look at Shadow of Mordor. That has very advanced A.I. and that particular aspect of it, the Nemesis System, had to be severely dumbed down for the last-gen versions. Monolith did what I say PC devs should do: say “Fuck limiting ourselves” and just make the best game you possibly can without the limits of tech. I think Bungie could have created much better A.I (and the A.I in this game is already better than in most games) if it was current-gen only. Shadow of Mordor is proof of that.

As for GTAV, yeah it could have had way more in it had it been only for current-gen. Look at all the shit they’re adding to it now. More people and cars on the street. That’s making it more robust right there. Let’s not forget destructible environments and better and more dynamic A.I from NPCs. You could easily expand and make that game more robust.

You’re focusing on the “small” part of the island statement but not at what I’m saying. Basically, PC gaming is PC gaming and console gaming is console gaming. They are two independent nations. Sometimes they have dealings but they are their own thing and shouldn’t be judged side by side. Without the metaphors, PC gamers are a particular type who like to have the very best money can offer and to be able to tweak things to their hearts desire. Console games just want to play games and don’t want to go through the hassle that PC gamers do. These are two different mindsets and two different platforms for these gamers. The two should not be compared. That’s the heart of my continent/island statement. If it makes you feel better, consider PC gaming like Australia then. A big ass island continent lol

WTF Tony sometimes you take goofy pills or something. HANDS DOWN Bungie has the best AI characters in the business. Only Gearbox and Monolith come close. There’s no fucking way if the game was current gen only that the AI would be better. The reason I get on your case about PC gaming is because I want you to look at things with a more open mind. The entire solar system is questionable. What you are saying is that we would have had more content if it was current gen only. I don’t know about that. This game has been developed over like 8 years or something. Adding more content has nothing to do with the power of the console. Look at GTAV on console as an example. Robust features? What do you mean about this? What’s more robust than we have now?

I really don’t like it when people make assumptions on game development who have never developed games or taken the time to interview a dev like Bungie.

As far as more players being on console, or console being a big island vs a small island on PC…man where do you come up with this stuff?! As someone who doesn’t play on PC or care to play on PC, how would you know how big the PC gaming world is? There are 100 million STEAM users and that doesn’t count the people who play World Of Warcraft, EVE Online and Battlefield. This is the now. not last gen or this gen, this is right now on PC. As console gamers adopt to the new gen, they pretty much leave the old gen behind. How many people are still gaming on PS2? Console gaming may be bigger than PC gaming, but PC gaming is no small island in comparison.

1)Tony, you touched on this on last show and I read your preview of Shadow Of Mordor…but do you feel the game should have been marketed/produced as a completely new IP because it’s
association with past Lord Of The Ring games?

2) Capcom announced new Resident Evil Revelations 2 (completely unexpected by me) to be an episodic release. Do you think more companies should adopt this approach more for certain games? (Asuras Wrath comes to mind. It’s unlikely I know, but sequel to that game in an episodic format via a digital method would be perfect). Do you think this model will become more
prevalent in the gaming industry?

3)I love Destiny but time doesn’t permit me to invest as much time as I’d like to. This obviously means that I don’t level up as quickly and I probably won’t get a chance to play the timed
raid events which have a high level cap. Will Bungie re-release them as a later stage and if they do, will the level cap remain the same?

4) In games where you can create your own character (e.g Destiny, Elder Scrolls, or even Mass Effect) I always go with a human male because I just can relate to it. How do you guys go
