There will be no parity if PS4’s stronger hardware is being pushed. In essentially every way, the PS4’s hardware is more powerful than the XBO’s.

If they’re the same resolution, PS4 will have a framerate or visual effects advantage, or its stronger hardware isn’t being pushed.

Factual PS4 Hardware Advantages: +6 CUs, +540 GFlops (40% greater) or more (1.3TF to 1.84TF), +16 ROPs, +6 ACEs/CQs, better GPGPU support (volatile bit and onion+ gpu cache bypass bus), better performing CPU, faster unified memory, and less OS overhead.

No amount of API updates is going to make up for that hardware gap.

Exclusively 1080p 60 FPS console games on PS4: MGS V, CoD Ghosts, FFXIV, Tomb Raider, MLB The Show 14, Resogun, Trials Fusion, Diablo 3 (higher framerate), Project Cars, Metro Redux, TLOU Remastered, more.

Sony’s ICE team, Naughty Dog, and Santa Monica Studios will fully utilize PS4’s stronger hardware, so it will stay ahead in graphics performance.

Driveclub, The Order, Uncharted 4, etc. are technically superior as they run on more powerful hardware. Normal, unbiased, sane people recognize PS4 exclusive games look better, which makes sense given they’re running on more powerful hardware.

Anyone with technical knowledge knew PS4’s game graphics performance would be better for the entire generation as soon as the specs were official. That was well over a year ago. Apparently it’s taking some people a LONG time to come to terms with reality. It’s going to be a very long generation for you.

Driveclub got great impressions at E3 2014, Gamescom 2014, and the recent beta test. It’s like a next-gen PGR with connected social features and club competition.

Many next gen games were delayed not just Driveclub. Only blind fanboys single it out.

Driveclub is channeling Project Gotham Racing, one of Xbox’s most beloved arcade racers. Those games didn’t have any customization beyond paint jobs and you know what? They were still amazing. It’s an arcade racer, different from sim racers, it doesn’t necessarily need fine tuning customizations. Not inherently better or worse.

Driveclub has the technically superior visuals to current Xbox racing games as PS4’s hardware is stronger and developers are able to push it farther. Unbiased, reasonable gamers think Driveclub has the superior looking visuals which makes sense running on more powerful hardware.

Closed and open world racers are different experiences, not inherently better or worse than one another.

Weather is confirmed free in a patch soon after launch. It was demoed in-game to journalists at E3 2014 and demoed at Gamescom 2014, it’s basically finished.

Framerate is confirmed locked at 30 and the game engine updates faster than the framerate for better controller response.

The PS+ Version of Driveclub includes all game modes, the Platinum trophy, online play, 11 tracks, and 10 cars. It’s being offered free to PS+ users at launch. It’s more than “a demo”. Writing on the PlayStation Blog, manager Fred Dutton confirmed “DriveClub will be in addition to your regular PlayStation Plus allocation,” he elaborated in response to a fan.

Driveclub PS+ Edition doesn’t take up a slot on October 2014 PS+ games, you still get two free PS4 games in addition to Driveclub.

Nobody is offering full retail AAA games on PS+ at launch. Is anyone else offering anything remotely approaching Driveclub PS+ Edition, basically giving away a good portion of the game? No, it’s unprecedented for an AAA retail game and a good thing.

Driveclub beta tester impressions:

“Gameplay really is fantastic. I’ve played a lot of racing games. From Burnout, PGR, Need For Speed series, Motorstorm, Gran Turismo, Forza (though not the Horizon series) and more. The car handling feels semi realistic, so a mix or realism and PGR style arcade, though I think it leans more towards realism. Plenty of content/events/challenges.

Graphically it is the best racing game I’ve played (haven’t played PC racing games). At first I didn’t think it looked that great, but then you keep racing and it just hits you. It’s stunning, and just feels so rich. The environments just feel like they’ve had so much attention and it really brings the races to life. I haven’t really experienced this before, it’s just very dense. Motion blur is really well implemented, it doesn’t feel distracting at all.”

Forza and Driveclub are both good racing games for different reasons, it’s only fanboys blindly hating one or the other.

I hope you guys discuss how overrated Drive Club is with its 1 feature & 38 cars it launches with. Also, the amazing double standard of coverage of Drive Club.

My problem with Destiny is that im not big on that multiplayer and since that game has a weak single player its not worth $60 to me. I know id enjoy the action the game provides (even though I hate how you have to drive every where for your missions in between) but thats not enough especially with the amount of other games that I want. Btw I can care less how much money it takes to make a games as long as its worth the asking price.

Agreed. I think the game to steal Destiny’s multiplayer spotlight at least on the One is Halo MCC.

Thanks for the comment OOMagnum aka Fragking28. I absolutely agree with everything you said and I also stand by my original comment that Destiny is only hot right now because it’s the only game out. While the gameplay is fun, both the story and repetitiveness of the missions are a severe letdown. Bungie def could have made this game better and hopefully they will do just that with whatever content they have planned next. I’ll be very interested to see which game steals the spotlight next after Destiny dies down.

Raids aren’t available until 2morro, but no it’s not limited to friends. Like Strikes, there’s a matchmaker in the game also.

I think it will. Weekly content is a good way to go and the Legendary and Exotic gear are treats to behold. I’m excited for the Raid also. Can’t wait to see how this goes.

True that, but keep in mind that Day 1 gamers get the game before reviews drop anyway. I guess it irks my the most that a game that will survive on future adopters and continued play is getting poor reviews for dumb reasons.

Also to your FF13 argument as beautiful as that game was to play I couldnt last 20 hours in just to hope it got better. But as a reviewer it would be half assed as you say but i would say thats two different arguments. Imo a game should be reviewed from start to finish and be ready before release albeit they have ample time to do so from the developer. Btw i quit on that game but since you are the millionth person to say that ill try it again when re-released.

You are right, Bungie should have allowed reviews to play on servers exclusive to them. Shit, in the perfect world, they would equip with lvl 20-25 characters and let them run a raid. Then, the reviews can play the earlier game WITH the knowledge. The fact remains that Bungie could have handled that better but the fact ALSO remains that the reviewers don’t have the full grasp of what they’re reviewing.
