There ARE women represented in gaming. Just be sure to support when they are. Skidmore just gave a long list and there are plenty more. On another note, why would the lack of a female lead hinder me from enjoying a game with my lady friend?

There really needs to be better representation of females in games. In every other form of media there is heavy support for females. Why not video games? Video games will forever be looked down upon until things change. There’s a reason males dominate video game culture, and it’s because we’re selfish. Would’nt you like to sit down and enjoy a video game will your lady friend? Well if so them things need to change. Maybe I wouldn’t settle for a ladyboy if things were different.

Incidentally, some of my favourite games contain a female lead. As someone who’s a huge fan of the Final Fantasy franchise, those titles are littered with female leads in all manor of personalities. Faith from Mirror’s Edge was a great character, Lara Croft is a great character, Lightning is one of the best FF character of all time, let along in the 13 saga. The fact there’s even a slight debate over female leads in games is ridiculous. People just want to complain about it. At the end of the day, if the game is fun and immersive, what does it matter if the character is male or female?

Also, Final Fantasy Advent Children is the best video game to film adaptation. Spirits Within doesn’t count…
