Today, 2K Sports finally unveiled the first trailer from their highly anticipated next-gen version of NBA 2K14.
The impressive video above shows the basketball simulation operating off of a PlayStation 4 with different camera angles accounted for. Various NBA superstars such as Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Durant are on display and have never looked better. This trailer is in fact so amazing, that I’m finding a hard time believing that this is actual gameplay footage and not just a bunch of glorified cutscences sliced together.
Most fans who have played NBA 2K14 should know right off that back that most spectacular plays are highlighted after they are pulled off. Going by that notion, the trailer above could essentially be a mashup of sequences that happen in between gameplay. In any event, we won’t have to wait too much longer to find out if these facts are true.
The NBA 2K series has dominated the sports basketball video game market in the wake of NBA Live’s disappearance over the last few years. With NBA LIVE 14 slated to return to retail next month, it will be interesting to see how it performs against NBA 2K14. If NBA 2K14 looks and plays anything like this trailer above, then I think it’s safe to say that EA may need to go back to the drawing board with LIVE.
The next-gen version of NBA 2K14 will launch next month on both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles. Has this trailer successfully convinced any of you to pick it up? Please feel free to let us know in the comments section below.
