Earlier today, Visceral Games General Manager Steve Papoutsis confirmed on the EA beat website that Amy Hennig has joined their studio and is now the Creative Director for their upcoming Star Wars project. Papoutsis expressed nothing but excitement and is very eager to be working with the Uncharted creator on this interesting new project.
Amy made news a month ago when she decided to leave Naughty Dog for reasons that are still unknown at this time. While reports have indicated that her departure proved to be messy, the fact of the matter is that the only ones who truly know what went down are the Naughty Dog executives themselves. In addition to this, Uncharted 4 game director Justin Richmond also left the studio last month to take a job at Riot Games. Both of their exits now leaves the Uncharted franchise firmly in the hands of Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley.
Hearing today’s news should definitely excite diehard Star Wars fans everywhere. Amy is also a fan of the franchise and will no doubt be committed to giving us a game that we can all can truly appreciate. While it is currently unclear what this Star Wars project will ultimately be, we can expect to hear more details about it during EA’s upcoming E3 2014 press conference in June.
