Skybound In-House Development Studio Quarter Up Working On Invincible VS

Invincible VS, an upcoming superhero 3v3 tag fighting game, was announced during yesterday’s Xbox showcase. Skybound Entertainment followed up this exciting announcement today with news that their in-house development studio Quarter Up is working on the game. The video embedded above highlights this announcement while more details and the official game trailer are included below.

Powered by a 40+ person full-time team headquartered in Los Angeles, California, Quarter Up brings together a seasoned development team with deep roots in competitive and combat-focused games with creative leadership drawing from experience across beloved games, franchises and entertainment powerhouses, including Activision Blizzard, Amazon Game Studios, Double Helix Games, Riot Games, Naughty Dog, Netflix and more. The studio name, Quarter Up, is a nod to the classic arcade ritual of putting a quarter on the machine to call ‘next.’ That spirit of competition defines the team’s vision of being at the center of combat, presentation and passion.

“Quarter Up is the result of a collective passion and desire to create something new – something that gets people out of their seats,” said Mike Willette, Executive Producer of Invincible VS / Quarter Up. “We’re an instinct-based team that follows our feelings; we’re always playing and always testing to create experiences that fans love just as much as we do.”

The studio’s debut title, Invincible VS, is the first major game set in the Invincible universe based on the acclaimed comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley. Built from the ground up, the game features fan-favorite characters, iconic locations, bone-breaking combos and tournament-quality brutal superhuman tag fighting gameplay – reflecting the studio’s signature approach to visceral combat, deep respect for the source materials and an unwavering commitment to authenticity.

“The roster of talent at Quarter Up proves there’s no better studio to bring this bold project to life,” said Chris Paulson, EVP and General Manager of Games at Skybound. “This team carries a deep legacy in fighting games, and Invincible was the perfect title for in-house development by their fearless and confident crew. We’re thrilled that Mike and the team are part of Skybound and we can’t wait to see  our vision come to life — on this game and beyond.”

Invincible VS launches in 2026 for consoles and PC. Stay tuned for more details and let us know if you’re excited about this game.
