The LEGO Batman Movie is in theaters now. As the sequel to 2014’s The LEGO Movie, it has a strong reputation to uphold. Just as we hoped, The LEGO Batman Movie is equally as awesome as its predecessor. Do you remember the many LEGO Movie companion games from 2014 and 2015? Some were great, and others weren’t. This month, the powers-at-be released a slew of new LEGO games in one neat package. Our review of every mini-game is below. Finish reading, and then start playing!
Alfred’s Bat-Snaps
We’re all accustomed to taking photos with our phones. In Alfred’s Bat-Snaps, we get to take pictures of Bruce Wayne in action. This unique mini-game on Poki is exciting and addictive. When looking at the camera screen, you’ll see little icons that indicate nearby characters. Clear, well-framed pictures of Batman and Robin are worth maximum points. If the superheroes are barely in the photo, you won’t score as highly. Look out for the Joker, Harley Quinn, and the Riddler! Those villains will do whatever they can to ruin your collection of photographs.
Fruit Bat Smoothie
This game is essentially Fruit Ninja in the LEGO world. Bruce Wayne wants to blend a healthy smoothie. In order to fill all four of the blenders, you’ll have to chop up bananas, apples, and cherries. Certain fruits come in different colors, and all of them will fly by in all directions. Throwing the Batarang is the only way to slice fruits. Since the Batarang soars like a boomerang, hitting fruits is harder than it sounds. Also, the Joker wants to ruin Batman’s nutrient-rich meal. If you hit too many of his bombs, it’ll be game over.
Lobster Thermidor Cook-Off
Timing is everything in Lobster Thermidor Cook-Off. All you have to do is manage nine microwave ovens at once! This casual game is filled with hectic whack-a-mole action. When an oven activates, you must set the timer within the green zone. That will ensure the lobster within cooks perfectly. If the cooking time is too high or low, the meal will be ruined. For you, that means less points. As things heat up in the factory-like kitchen, the ovens will start to speed up. The more you cook, the harder it gets!
Dolphin Rider
Dolphin Rider is a much simpler game, boasting only one control: press the right arrow key to stay afloat. It’s an arcade-style adventure with the feel of an endless runner. Atop a talented dolphin, Batman wants to surf over every green ring. This is easier said than done, because you’ll have hardly any time to prepare. Green rings are good, and purple rings are bad. That’s all you need to know.
Stop Joker’s Escape
This is the hardest game of the bunch. Regarding your mission, the title says it all. The Joker is fleeing the city via balloons, and you must bring him back to the ground. Once again, the Batarang is Batman’s weapon of choice. There are only about 10 seconds between the Joker’s lift-off and his potential escape. Pop every balloon, and send that green-haired baddie to Gotham City Jail.
