Visualizing a Blockbuster: An Interview with Thor: Ragnorak’s VFX Supervisor Jake Morrison

Thor: Ragnorak was one of Marvel’s biggest blockbusters of 2017, featuring some of the most breathtaking special effects that drew inspiration from Greek mythology. One of the most dynamic scenes was Valkyrie vs Hela, the final battle scene and The Hall of Asgard. But how did this all become a reality?

Enter Jake Morrison, the highly experienced VFX Supervisor with over 15 years of credits to his name, he has worked on major Marvel projects such as The Avengers, Ant-Man, and Thor: Ragnarok.

The Koalition had an opportunity to speak with Morrison about how he turned a storyboard into one of the most visually artistic movies of 2017.
