Xbox Series S Officially Announced And Priced At $299.99

Last Night, Windows Central Senior Editors Jez Corden and Zac Bowden released a news report confirming the launch date and pricing for both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. They confirmed via their sources that The Xbox Series S will retail for $299.99 while the more powerful Xbox Series X will be priced at $499.99. Both consoles are expected to launch on November 10th.

Since this story broke, Microsoft has now confirmed the Xbox Series S price courtesy of a tweet embedded below from the official Xbox Twitter account.

While the tweet doesn’t confirm the November 10th release date, it does state that more details will be shared soon. Xbox will have a presence at the Tokyo Games Show later this month but they have already confirmed that no next-gen news will be shared at this event. Since details continue to leak regarding Microsoft’s next-gen consoles, my best guess is that another Xbox Digital Showcase event is happening sooner rather than later.

Xbox Series S

The long-rumored Xbox Series S is being advertised as the smallest Xbox ever and will be seen as a direct competitor to both the PS5 Digital and Standard Editions. Sony has also remained quiet on the pricing and release date for their next-gen consoles, a move that is sure to change now that Xbox has revealed their hands. While the Xbox Series X $499.99 price point hasn’t yet been officially confirmed, all signs point to the leak being factually accurate. Stay tuned for more details on this front.
