As expected, today at their Worldwide Developers Conference Apple revealed their 4th generation iPhone or as its now known, iPhone 4.
iPhone 4 will be 23% thinner than last years 3GS, making it the thinnest smartphone currently on the market. As previously reported iPhone 4 will have a faster processor, front facing camera, LED flash and a new ergonomic design but Apple co-founder Steve Jobs also unveiled some new features such as video conferencing (wifi only), vastly improved battery life, HD video recording and new “Retina” display which improves upon the iPhone’s already impressive visuals.
There is also plenty to look forward to on the Apps side of things. Netflix, iMovies, Farmville and Guitar Hero will all be making their way to the App Store, the latter of which was announced by Activision Senior Vice President Karthik Bala.
The iPhone 4 will launch in both Black and all White variants on June 24 in US, UK, France, Japan and Germany, 18 other countries will receive the phone in July. AT&T will be offering the iPhone 4 for $199 (16GB) and $299 (32GB) in North America and they are dropping the price of the 3GS to $99 effective immediately. Early upgrades will also be available to A&T customers whose contracts expire in 2010, hopefully other networks across the globe will follow suit.
