Rayman Legends “Internal Demonstration” Trailer Shows Off Wii U Functionality

Earlier today a trailer for the yet-to-be-announced Rayman Legend leaked on to the interwebs revealing exclusive Wii U functionality with it. Rayman Legends appears to be a direct sequel the phenomenal Rayman Origins which was released on home consoles last fall and for the Vita and PC a lot more recently. The trailer shows off the games incredible hand-drawn visuals and reveals new game modes such as competitive speeds runs and “social” minigames. More interestingly, the latter half of the trailer shows off exclusive content planned for the Wii U version of the game. It will apparently utilize both the touch screen found on the Wii U’s tablet controller and the system’s near field communication functionality.

However in a statement released to VG24/7, Ubisoft stated;

“This video was intended as a purely internal demonstrative video, and in NO way represents the final game, the final console or their features.”

At this early stage its pointless to speculate on what features will or won’t make it in to the final version of the game but I’m sure many answers will be given at E3. The good news is; a Rayman Origins sequel exists and it looks absolutely stunning!
