Keiji Inafune, mastermind behind the Mega Man series, has revealed his spiritual successor to the series with Mighty No. 9. The game is currently being Kickstarted and is only $70,000 away from its $900,000 funding goal.
Check out the embedded video above to see their plans for the game, and see below for concept art and details about the game taken from the Kickstarter.
The concept art for this game looks fantastic. Obviously this is just another Mega Man game and you know that in the right hands it could be great. Fortunately this game is in the perfect hands which means that Mighty No. 9 should be brilliant. It’s nice to know that Kickstarter can still work when something like this comes along. A lot of people have recently failed at getting their games funded but this shows that if the people want it, it will get funded. The designers just need to come up with a concept that speaks with the people and back it up with enough proof that they can actually deliver.
I look forward to the release of Mighty No. 9 in 2015. The game is nearly completely funded with 29 days to go so I’m sure it will be overfunded by the end of the deadline. Hopefully it reaches the $2.5 million stage so we can get Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U versions!
Let me know in the comments what you think of Mighty No. 9 and whether you are going to help fund the project!
