Bungie today announced that people who pre-order Destiny will have access to a beta in early 2014. The game will then release later in spring of that year.
Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision publishing said “We have no doubt Destiny is not only a great action game but also the next great entertainment property,that means we’re putting all our creative support, and all our expertise in creating blockbuster franchises, into a colossal Destiny Beta that we believe will set a new bar for the next generation of games. Fans have a lot to look forward to in 2014.”
According the Amazon page: “Pre-order ‘Destiny’ and receive access to the upcoming beta. The Beta will be available in early 2014 on the following platforms: PS4 system, PS3 system, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Limited time only. While beta codes last. Internet connection is required.”
It is great that the beta is going to be available on so many platforms and allow a wide spectrum of gamers to try out the game before it releases. I would love to play the Destiny beta but I don’t normally pre-order games anymore. Maybe I will make an exception for Destiny as I think it looks extremely promising so far.
