Pid developer Might & Delight has announced their new game Shelter, which is a third-person game for the PC and Mac where you play as a mother badger protecting her cubs.
“As the mother of a litter of cubs you are forced out from familiar and safe surroundings to find new shelter in a beautiful, but dangerous world. The harsh reality of nature plays a pivotal role in the game whilst at the same time Shelter aims to pay a homage to the great outdoors and all its imposing beauty.”
“It’s our ambition to create an experience of immersion by making you feel exposed and vulnerable in the sometimes unforgiving hands of the wild”, said lead level and game designer Andreas Wangler. “We are not saying nature is cruel, however what the mother and her cubs will experience is simply a fact of life. There are no boss fights in this game. No good or evil elements. It’s simply about survival and protecting your offspring.”
Well the game certainly sounds unusual, it will definitely be interesting to see what such an established developer can do with a badger game. However, it sounds unique and at least it is not another FPS, so that’s something we can be grateful for.
Shelter is due out summer 2013 and you can find the link to the Greenlight here.
