The Best Games of 2015: January Releases

Now that 2014 is officially a thing of the past, all the focus will shift towards a very important year for video game releases. January starts things off slow with the retail debut of titles like Dying Light, and Saints Row: Gat out of Hell. Even though these games may not necessarily appeal to everyone, there is absolutely no doubt that they are destined to be some of the better titles out this month.

Release Date: January 20th

Resident Evil HD Remaster is simply a rerelease of the original game on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This popular remake first appeared on the Nintendo Gamecube way back in 2002 and is a valid reason why the series still sells well today. If you enjoyed all that this game had to offer and you want to experience it all over again on your new PS4 or Xbox One, then picking this up is your only option.

Saints Row: Gat out of Hell is a standalone expansion for Saints Row IV and is centered around Johnny Gat. Players who still haven’t had a chance to play Saints Row IV will also be able to buy the game for the PS4 and/or Xbox One on January 20th. If you’re a fan of open world action-adventure games, then you’ll love Gat out of Hell.

Dying Light is an action-adventure survival horror game created by the talented developers over at Techland. Many have described this title as a better version of Dead Island, but the verdict is still out on if this is actually true. If you’re looking for a challenging zombie game with a narrative, then Dying Light was made just for you.

Grand Theft Auto V finally comes to the PC on January 27th. Right around the same time, heists are expected to launch simultaneously across all platforms. This highly sought after mode is now a full-fledged expansion and is guaranteed to change the overall Grand Theft Auto Online experience forever. If you’re a diehard GTA fanatic, then picking this up on day one should be an absolute no-brainer.

Grim Fandango: Remastered is an HD version of Tim Schafer’s neo-noir adventure game. This is one of many titles that fans have been hoping would make a comeback. If you’re a fan of Double Fine games, then you’ll feel right at home with this classic.

Release Date: January 30th

Life is Strange is an episodic interactive graphic adventure game centered around a photographer that has the ability to rewind time. This unique game is created by the same studio behind Remember Me and is already poised to be one of the most thought provoking series of the year. If you’re interested in trying out something new, then this may be one game you’ll want to keep your eyes on.
