Scalebound has been Delayed to 2017

We have some disappointing news to report to Xbox One owners. Platinum Games has just announced that its Xbox One exclusive, Scalebound, will not be released this year as originally planned. Instead, the game will now come out sometime in 2017.

“Scalebound is one of the biggest games PlatinumGames has ever created: an epic adventure filled with exploration and fantasy gameplay, inventive multiplayer, and action-packed battles on an unbelievable scale – all set in a beautiful and evolving world,” said Platinum. “In order to deliver on our ambitious vision and ensure that Scalebound lives up to expectations, we will be launching the game in 2017. This will give us the time needed to bring to life all the innovative features and thrilling gameplay experiences that we have planned.”

While this isn’t a great way to start off the new year, fans who have been awaiting for this title shouldn’t feel too bad. It’s always better to delay a game and fix whatever issues it may have than release something with technical problems that need to be patched afterwards. People are more willing to forgive a delayed game than a buggy one. If Platinum Games needs more time to make Scalebound live up to their standards then so be it.

We don’t yet know when exactly in 2017 the game will see a release. Platinum promises to give us an update on the title sometime later this year so stay tuned for any further updates on Scalebound.
