The Most Anticipated Upcoming Games Of 2017

For the majority of gamers, 2016 was a great year filled with loads of major breaking news stories, an exciting variety of titles released and updates on upcoming developments. This means that even though last year was a very good one for gaming in general, 2017 looks set to be yet another stellar year.

With that in mind, this article takes a closer look at some of the most anticipated upcoming games of 2017. Check them all out in the list below:

Prey

The upcoming first-person shooter video game Prey is developed by Arkane Studios and will be released through prolific games publisher Bethesda Softworks. The publisher of popular titles such as the Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Doom franchises is working alongside Arkane to bring one of this year’s most hotly anticipated titles to fruition. The FPS reboot is due to be released in May on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One consoles.

Fallout 4 VR

Yes, I know that Fallout 4 has been out for a while now but this year we’re set to see an already iconic game gain full VR support with the Steam VR-enabled HTC Vive.

Although it won’t be accessible for PS4 or Xbox any time soon you can’t help but get a little bit excited by a fully immersive experience of sighting a Deathclaw or having a pack of jumping, screaming Ghouls running at you.

VR technology is already a popular genre that is gathering steam with already established franchises such as Resident Evil bringing out acclaimed VR titles. These games are really pushing the envelope with the experience that games can offer and are opening the market up to new, exciting ways.

So much so that even bingo and casino games providers such as www.playcosmo.com are keen to harness and offer their customers. Proof that from publishers in every corner of the market are keen to start using new tech to push their games forward.

Super Mario Odyssey

Nintendo recently released a brand-new console, the Nintendo Switch, to much acclaim despite the hardware having very little software to support it. Still, franchises such as Zelda and Mario have seen the new console get rave reviews and its popularity grow.

Super Mario Odyssey will feature a realistic human city and new characters making it another upcoming title for the Nintendo Switch that gamers on the platform will be eagerly awaiting.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

Uncharted 4 was originally widely recognized as the final chapter in the extremely popular Uncharted franchise of action-adventure titles. However, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will feature Uncharted 2’s Chloe Frazer and Uncharted 4’s Nadine Ross as the main protagonists this time round. The new upcoming game was initially planned as a minor expansion for Uncharted 4 but grew to become a fully stand-alone title in its own right.

God of War

God of War is another game that avid gamers will have to be extremely patient for. The hack and slash title from Sony is yet to receive an official release date but is widely expected to arrive during the 2017 holiday season. There are many big changes that Sony has already highlighted in teaser trailers, not least the fact that popular main protagonist Kratos returns with a son whom he must protect at all costs.

The list above is by no means exhaustive as there are a number of other great upcoming video games in 2017. Notable titles include eagerly watched games such as Days Gone, Detroit: Become Human, Injustice 2 and a handful of others. As noted above, these and more upcoming video games are sure to make this year another vintage one in gaming.
