The last time we posted about the PC and PlayStation 4 exclusive Street Fighter V, it was about how the game would be coming out in Spring of 2016. At that point, we got that information in an indirect fashion as it was a sentence buried within a post about merchandise at PAX East 2015. Today however, we have gotten official confirmation about the Spring release date thanks to the latest Capcom earnings report.
Within this earnings report, Capcom states that it expects to sell 2 million units of the game by the end of this fiscal year which ends on March 31, 2016. This includes both digital and physical copies of the game.
While this isn’t a solid release date, it is an official window of when we can expect Street Fighter V. This will the biggest title for Capcom next year and since it will have cross-play between PC and PS4, an extensive public beta will be run. We don’t know when this beta will take place exactly but those who pre-order the game will be guaranteed access to it.
