Space Station #5 An Interview with One Strange Rock’s Jane Root, Ari Handel and Peggy Whitson

National Geographic’s ten-part series, One Strange Rock is more than a journey through land, sea and air. It’s a magical exploration about what makes planet Earth so remarkable.

Filmed across 45 countries, 6 continents and in outer space, this epic series from Nutopia and Protozoa Pictures redefines Natural History and Science genres.

From the mind of the award-winning producer Jane Root and Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Darren Aronofsky. Academy Award-nominee Will Smith guides viewers on an epic mind bending trip along with former astronauts who have seen life on Earth from the best view imaginable – space.

The Koalition interviewed Jane Root, Executive Producer Ari Handel and former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson, who became the first female astronaut to command the International Space Station twice, broke the record for most total days spent in space by any NASA astronaut, at more than 534 days, and, also broke the record for the longest single space flight by a woman, which had previously been held by Samantha Cristoforetti at 199 days, 16 hours.
