Tides of Annihilation received a ton of attention when it was revealed for the first time during Sony’s State of Play livestream event in February 2025. Developed and published by Eclipse Glow Games, this upcoming single-player fantasy action-adventure game looked spectacular and could be a sleeper hit once it’s released.
During GDC 2026, I sat down with Eclipse Glow Games to learn more about this title. Before I share my thoughts on that overall experience, here are some more details about what Tides of Annihilation is and why it’s one of many games worth keeping on your radar.

Tides of Annihilation takes place in modern-day London after an otherworldly invasion decimates the city at its core. Players step into the role of Gwendolyn (voiced by Jennifer English), the lone survivor embarking on a quest to find out who caused the invasion and get revenge. She discovers a mysterious power that lets her summon and command the Knights of the Round Table, and the game will be heavily inspired by the Arthurian legend.
During my time with Eclipse Glow Games, they confirmed this is their first game and that it’s being developed in Unreal Engine 5. Their team includes industry veterans who have worked on titles like Yakuza 0, Assassin’s Creed, Persona, and Prince of Persia. They are also massive fans of action-adventure games, which is why Tides of Annihilation is a true passion project for them.

Given the London setting, the Chinese studio aims to capture familiar historical landmarks and put a fantasy spin on their representation. Their decision to base the game in this location also intrigued me because it reminds me of Ready at Dawn’s The Order: 1886, a game that I still feel deserved a proper sequel. The world also looks huge, and I’m eager to discover more secrets within it.
Another thing that intrigues me about Tides of Annihilation is seeing how engaging the combat is and how it will evolve as you progress through the game. As I mentioned above, you’ll be able to command others, and I look forward to seeing how mixing and matching certain characters can impact fights on the battlefield. It’s worth noting that I didn’t get any further details about the Knights of the Round Table or their specific abilities. Still, if this is based on King Arthur, you can definitely imagine what to expect from the King Arthur books out now.

While my time with Eclipse Glow Games was brief, I’ve seen and heard more than enough to be sold on Tides of Annihilation. If you love fantasy action games, then you definitely should start looking more into this game. While there is no confirmed release date yet, I expect we will definitely hear more updates and news sooner rather than later.
Tides of Annihilation is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Are you looking forward to this game? Let us know in the comments section below.
