Beyond: Two Souls Confirms Willem Dafoe, Release Date

Beyond: Two Souls is shaping up to be not just one of the last great PS3-exclusives of this generation, but it could very well become one of the most groundbreaking titles in the entire history of the gaming industry. Bold claim, I know, but have you seen or heard anything about this game in the past year? It seems to be pushing gaming forward in the storytelling department I didn’t think was possible on the PS3’s hardware, so it’s exciting to see it move even further down that road.

Sony announced that not only is Willem Dafoe a part of the game, he is a crucial character. He plays the role of some sort of mentor and father figure to Ellen Page’s character and the video above shows some of that interaction play out while she is still very young. The video below shows behind-the-scenes footage of Dafoe and Page working together and their chemistry appears to be out of this world. I can’t imagine the difficulties that are faced having to act in that type of environment, but it looks like their performances are going to set a new standard in the industry.

Beyond: Two Souls has been officially confirmed for an October, 8th 2013 release date coming exclusively to the PlayStation 3. Do you think it’s a bad move releasing the game so close to the PS4 launch, or do you think it will release on both? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
