Capcom Confirms Deep Down Will Be Free-To-Play

Late last night, Sony Worldwide boss Shuhei Yoshida confirmed via Twitter that Capcom’s mysterious online RPG Deep Down will be a free-to-play game when it launches exclusively on the PlayStation 4 in 2014. The tweet can be seen embedded below.

This news comes straight out of Tokyo Games Show where various media outlets got to see a live demo of the game. While there is no official release date yet for Deep Down, we do know that the open beta will be starting right around the February 2014 launch of the PS4 in Japan.

Ever since Deep Down was first teased during Sony’s PlayStation 4 unveiling way back in February, many have wondered what exactly this game is. While it is currently being billed as a mix between Assassin’s Creed and Dark Souls, many questions are still left to be answered. On a positive note, this news is no doubt huge for everyone who is planning to pickup a PS4 this November. Sony has stated time and time again that they have big things planned for the console and it’s great to see alot of these things starting to come together.
