/// GUARDIANS
You are a Guardian of the last safe city on Earth, able to wield some of the Traveler’s incredible power. You are taking this mantle just as a new day dawns. Below are the three types of heroes you will be able to play and customize.
HUNTER //
Sub-Classes: Gunslinger | Blade Dancer
Class Armor: Cloak
Melee: Hunter Knife
Specialties: Stealth | Speed
Hunters once prowled the wilderness and wastelands, taking big risks for even bigger rewards. You’re no outlaw—at least, not anymore—but making your own luck has always meant bending the rules. Your unique brand of daring and ingenuity is needed now more than ever.
TITAN //
Sub-Classes: Striker | Defender
Class Armor: Badge
Melee: Shoulder Strike
Specialties: Heavy Damage | Armor
The first Titans built the Wall, and gave their lives to defend it. Now, you stand in the same high place, steadfast and sure, protecting all who shelter in your shadow. You hail from a long line of heroes, forged from strength and sacrifice. Our enemies may be deadly and merciless, but so are you.
WARLOCK //
Sub-Classes: Voidwalker | Sunsinger
Class Armor: Bond
Melee: Force Push
Specialties: Space Magic
Warlocks have long studied the Traveler, mastering some of its arcane energies. Its true purpose still remains a great mystery, but discovering truth has always driven you into the unknown. Now, our enemies are the only thing that stands between you and the lost wonders of our Golden Age.

/// ARMORS OF DESTINY
Armor is protective equipment worn by Guardians to deflect damage and prevent injury. Armor is categorized by equipment slot and tier, with armor type and metal to material composition varying upon class.
Armor is divided into slots, with each slot corresponding to a different body part.
All player classes can store and wear armor in four armor slots that are common across classes. Below are some examples that you may see in Destiny.
Helmet //
Gauntlets //
Chest Armor //
Leg Armor //
In addition, each player class has a fifth armor slot unique to that class [Class Armor]:
Cloak [Hunter] | Badge [Titan] | Bond [Warlock]
^ — One piece of armor can be equipped in each of the five slots at any time, while nine pieces of armor (and/or engrams) can be stored in inventory for each armor slot, thus allowing a player to carry up to 50 total pieces of armor and/or engrams (but no more than 10 of any one type) at once.
Some armor may include bonuses to certain player attributes, allowing for additional bonuses as follows:
Discipline: Decreases grenade cooldown time.
Intellect: Reduces the cooldown time of the player’s Super Ability.
Strength: Reduces the cooldown time of a player’s Melee Ability.
Light: Boosts the player’s level, increasing the damage done by subclass abilities.

/// WEAPONS OF DESTINY
Each weapon fits into one of three inventory slots according to its type: primary, special, and heavy. A player can equip one weapon of each type and hold up to nine more of each type in the inventory. Players can equip any weapon in their inventory at any time, but changing the equipped Special or Heavy weapon will forfeit all of the weapon’s ammo. Below are some examples that you may see in Destiny.
Primary //
Primary weapons are the main weapons used by Guardians. There are four different types of primary weapons:
Scout Rifles: Semi-automatic rifles with high accuracy.
Back
Pulse Rifles: Burst-fire rifles with high recoil between shots.
Back
Auto Rifles: Fully-automatic rifles with medium accuracy.
Back
Hand Cannons: Magnums with high power, but no scope.
Primary weapon ammo can be replenish by picking up small, white boxes.
Back
Special //
Special weapons have niche uses and deal higher amounts of damage. There are three types of special weapons:
Shotguns: Short range, but high damage.
Back
Sniper Rifles: Long-range scope and very accurate.
Back
Fusion Rifles: Mid-range burst-fire rifle that must be charged for every shot.
Special weapon ammo can be replenished by picking up small, green boxes or opening green ammo crates.

Back
Rocket Launchers: Deals massive area-of-effect damage.
Heavy weapon ammo can be replenished by picking up large, purple boxes or opening purple ammo crates.

/// DESTINATIONS / LOCATIONS
Below is a description of all the locations in Destiny that we know will be shipped with the game at launch.
Earth //
Earth is the first location players experience. This is where Destiny’s story begins, and where the player learns how the game is played. There are numerous areas to explore as well as a handful of Story missions to progress in Destiny’s campaign. The enemy race native to Earth is primarily The Fallen, but players will encounter the Hive as well. Earth is also home to The Devils’ Lair, a cooperative Strike mission where players must take down the powerful Sepiks Prime. After a few hours of gameplay on Earth, players will be ready to conquer the other planets and locations available in Destiny.
The Moon //
The Moon, while it may be Destiny’s smallest location, is one of its most exciting. The Hive have become the native enemy on the Moon and have excavated deep under the Moon’s surface. This means that while there may only be a few locations on the surface, the deep caves and dungeons of what is known as The Hellmouth are vast and explorable. One particular Strike mission titled The Summoning Pits brings players deep into the Hellmouth.
Venus //
Venus is probably the most mysterious of Destiny’s locations, and it is possible that it may even be the largest. The primary enemy on Venus are the Vex, mysterious time traveling robots fighting against the Guardians.
Mars //
Mars is Destiny’s highest level planet. This means the enemies in free-roam and open areas will be higher than those on any other planet. The native enemies of Mars are the massive Cabal, heavily armored and extremely tough to take down. Mars also has two Strike missions, on of which is exclusive to Playstation users (The Dust Palace).
Mercury //
Mercury isn’t an explorable location in Destiny, nor are there Story or Strike missions, however, there is one multiplayer map set on the burning planet. The map is called “Burning Shrine” and features Vex geometry that shifts and changes sight lines in the middle of gameplay. This map is only available as a part of the Trials of Osiris activity/gamemode. It requires the player to be level 20 as well as a rare in game currency to enter the competition.
The Reef //
As of now, The Reef is a 100% mystery. Fans have been wondering what it was ever since we saw the above concept art. The interesting part about the Reef is that it is a location that Bungie has created and put in our solar system. The Reef is rumored to be the home of the Awoken, lead by the Queen of the Reef, who offers bounties for the player that can earn them special and unique gear. The Reef may also be the location of some of the game’s final story missions. While it isn’t confirmed to be explorable, there will certainly be a handful of activities for players to experience.
OTHER //
In earlier trailers, other locations were mentioned such as Jupiter’s moon Europa, as well as Saturn. Bungie has confirmed that all planets and moons in Destiny are located in our own Solar System.
